Moth Control Provided in Squamish - Lillooet District
Pantry or Clothes Moths Control in Squamish is Probably what You Need
There are two species of moths you will likely encounter in your home at some point: the Pantry Moth or Meal Moth, and the Clothes Moth, which we most frequently control. The Pantry Moth is generally easier to control, as their nesting areas and food sources are easily identifiable and manageable. In contrast, Clothes Moths have widespread nesting areas and feed on natural fibers, such as wool, as well as other materials used in clothing, furniture, and carpets. Exterminating Clothes Moths is typically more challenging and costly.

Pantry Moth
Pantry Moth Control
Pantry moths are commonly introduced into homes through food purchased from stores, often found in grain boxes, flour and rice bags, and even pet food.
They typically lay their eggs inside food sources. Once the eggs hatch into larvae, they may leave the original box or bag and start crawling inside pantries or closets where food is stored. They emerge as fully grown adults ready to multiply shortly after, often seen flying around in search of a mate.
If you notice moths flying out of your cupboards, don’t hesitate to contact us. If they find a mate, they will establish new nests, leading to more spoiled food and additional moths emerging.

Clothes Moth
Clothes Moth Control
Clothes moths are often introduced into homes through the purchase of furniture, clothing, linens, or by someone bringing them in inadvertently on their jacket or clothing.
Once the clothes moth larvae emerge, they begin to feed on clothing, particularly wool, but they may also consume other fibers.
These moths are challenging to eradicate as they can hide deep within clothing, furniture, and other items.
Moth Control
Pantry Moths Control: How we do it
Pantry moth Control always begins with locating the main source of the infestation. We meticulously inspect all food boxes and bags until we identify the primary nest. Once found, the container is disposed of. Next, we spray the interior of the cupboard, pantry, or closet where the nest was located. Additionally, we install scented lures and glue boards throughout the house to capture flying moths. In cases of large infestations, we may resort to spraying pesticides inside the home.
Clothes Moths Control: How we do it
Clothes moths are different. Residents play a crucial role. All clothing, carpets, and wool-containing items must be washed in hot water and dried in the dryer if possible. We also recommend scheduling a follow-up treatment a month later to ensure we’ve effectively reduced the population and resolved the issue. Additionally, we immediately resort to spraying pesticides inside the home and install glue boards to catch any strays.
