Al came out next-day when a rodent problem cropped up at our home, and quickly inspired confidence. He’s been doing this for decades, initially working for large companies, and now customizes his services for each situation based on his deep knowledge of pest control in the Squamish area. We also like that he rarely uses pesticides (even though he’s licensed to). And last but not least- he’s a super nice guy 🙂
Al was quick to respond to my call, he took the time to ask lots of questions and looked at my house on the same day I called.
Very professional service.
Our wasp and hornet extermination services are performed with or without pesticides.
Pesticide method:
Cost effective, best for exterior treatments
Organic Method:
Best when dealing with interior nests or if you prefer not using pesticides on your property
Wasps are Highly Beneficial, But Maybe Not Around Your Homes

While there are many pests homeowners can tackle themselves, dealing with wasps and hornets is usually best left to professionals like ourselves. Allergic reactions can pose extreme hazards for some individuals, and there’s also the risk of falling off a roof or ladder while being swarmed after trying using a can of spray you purchased at the store. See our “Getting tagged by wasps” video.
Our extensive knowledge and, more importantly, our personal experience with dealing with wasps for so many years give us a real edge in the industry. Our specialized equipment and training enable pest control technicians like us to handle wasps and hornets safely and quickly. While some species are relatively docile, others can be highly aggressive. Our experience gives us an advantage by allowing us to quickly identify the species and respond accordingly, all in the best interests of our clients. Call us for a free Estimate
Getting Tagged by Wasps

Wasp life cycle
Wasps activity in Squamish–Lillooet Regional District typically slow down in September. The last batch of young produced during that month will consist of reproducer wasps, or queens. Once fertilized, queens will find a suitable place to hibernate and prepare their new colony by next April. A priority in early spring is to produce workers that will build nests, forage for food and protect the colony.
Although beneficial, most people don’t see wasps in a friendly manner. The reason is that they often choose the worst places on a property to establish their nests. This is a problem because if the nest is built near a path where you walk frequently, they may consider you a threat and tag you. Once you are pheromone-marked, the rest of the colony will recognize you as a potential threat. Some even believe that wasps can recognize people, similar to how crows can. I’m not entirely sure about that, though I am undoubtedly a significant threat to most wasps as an exterminator, I think that my behaviour around them makes them less likely to sting me.
Wasps Benifits
Believe it or not, wasps and hornets play a significant role in our environment, especially if you have beautiful gardens and flower beds. These little creatures are highly effective in eliminating other insect pests that can hinder the growth of your favorite fruits and vegetables. They also contribute, to some extent, to pollinating your plants.
People Often Ask Me: How Do I Feel About Wasps?
Over time, I have developed a sort of admiration for wasps. This summer, someone asked me, ‘Aren’t you scared they are going to sting you?’ while I was treating a nest. Funnily enough, I had to pause for a few seconds and think about it because the thought had never occurred to me. ‘No, not really. I’ve never been stung by a wasp before,’ I replied.
(Actually, I did get stung once, way back when I started working in pest control in 2006. I was pretty inexperienced and developed a false sense of security, not having encountered Bald-faced Hornets yet. I learned my lesson very quickly, I can assure you.)
My client looked at me with a large question mark on his face and asked, ‘What is your secret?’ Again, I couldn’t find an answer right away and had to think. ‘I guess it’s about attitude,’ I responded. My client laughed out loud.
It’s funny now that I am actually writing this down; I don’t really feel anything but maybe respect and admiration for wasps. I actually encourage Paper Wasps around my house. I have a huge flowering bush right by my front door where hundreds of wasps gather to hunt aphids and to pollinate the flowers at any given time. I even placed a bird bath right by the bush because wasps need water too, quite a lot of it, actually.
How Do YOU Feel About Wasps Is a More Important Question!
I don’t expect people in general to feel the same way I do about wasps, and I think I can understand why. Unfortunately for the wasp, but great for you, I provide some of the best wasp control services in Squamish and the nearby Sea to Sky regions. I have intimate experience with all the wasps commonly found in the region.
Wasps Control Options offered to Squamish Residents
We offer two different options for wasp and hornet extermination: Organic Treatment or Pesticide Treatment.
Organic Treatment:
We suit up in beekeeper suits and dive right into the nest. Our approach involves using a vacuum cleaner to extract as many wasps or hornets as possible before removing the entire nest.
Advantages of Organic Treatment:
Opting for organic treatment may be a really good idea especially when face with having to treat a nest from inside a home. Removing wasps and hornets from the interior is a common practice. It is easier and more cost-effective to patch drywall than to repair exterior siding material to get to a nest that is embed far inside. Sometimes, accessing the nest from the inside is the only viable option in many of these cases. The price of organic wasp removal may vary depending on the nest’s location and accessibility. We provide quotes after conducting an initial inspection.
Advantages of Exterminating with Pesticides:
In many cases, using pesticides is perfectly suitable, particularly when the nest is located in a tree or outside a home. The process is often faster and more cost-effective. If the nest is visible or its location is known (such as inside the roof overhang, railing around a deck, or in the ground), there is usually no need for an initial inspection. When performing a pesticide treatment, it is necessary to leave the nest in place so that foraging wasps and hornets come into contact with the pesticide upon their return. The nest can either be left to fall on its own or, for a small fee, we can return after a month to remove it.
